Inspired by the gazebos, lanais, and screened rooms that are so popular in the Southern USA, the Florida Room exudes a relaxed and summery attitude. What makes this design stand out from our other cottages and sheds are the plentiful windows. Installed on every face of this cottage, they bring in light from every angle while letting you enjoy a panoramic view.
There are so many ways you can relax in the Florida Room. Turn it into an attached or detached screen room filled with lounge chairs. Place a hot tub right in the center and enjoy the comfort of keeping the bugs and mosquitos away as you unwind. The Florida Room can even be outfitted with insulation weatherproof windows, so that you’ll get to enjoy it as a solarium in the winter, where you can watch the snow fall. The appeal of this cottage is also in its quality design and sturdy construction. With hefty 2″x6″ tongue and groove decking, and a post and beam hemlock frame, this cabin is built from the ground up with strength and longevity in mind. You’ll enjoy your scenic views from the Florida Room for many years to come.
Choose Your Size & Type
With the Florida Room, you have plenty of size options to accommodate your family and friends. For a square floorplan, we have the 10’x10′ or 12’x12′. If you prefer a rectangular layout, the 8’x10′, 10’x14′, 12’x16′, and 12’x20′ sizes await. If you plan on entertaining a lot of people, bigger is always better. Choose Your Format This cottage is available as a Pre-Cut Kit, which ships all over the continental USA. Build it yourself or hire contractors to construct it for you. Depending on how you plan to use your Florida Room, you can purchase it as an uninsulated shell, a Three Season Kit, or a Four Season Kit. We also offer our Florida Room as a fully assembled building, if your site is within 300 miles of our factory in Londonderry, Vermont.
The Complete Shell – With this package you get everything needed to set up an uninsulated building. Wall and roof framing, siding, millwork, and a metal roof come with this package.
Three Season — This package includes an insulated floor, wall and roof vapor barrier, and solid pine roof sheathing in addition to everything that comes with the shell. If you want to insulate later, or just need comfort Spring through Fall, then this is a good option.
Four Season – Make your Florida Room a year-round paradise. This package comes with foam board insulation finished with shiplap sheathing. The floor and roof are insulated with fiberglass and vapor barrier. Finally, energy-efficient windows and an insulated door keep the climate under control.
Customize
Each type of building comes with default options that match our specifications. You’ll want this decorative outbuilding to match the aesthetic of your home. We make customizing the Florida Room easy. As you go through the checkout process, you’ll get to choose from options for roofing, siding, accessories, and other goodies.
• Strengthen – Some options are intended to boost the ruggedness of your already robust building. For example, you can increase the weight rating of your floor and roof. Treated floor systems are also ideal for geographical locations that are prone to damp ground. Western Red Cedar siding naturally repels many insects too.
• Personalize – If you want to style your building so that it blends in with your natural landscape, or match existing buildings on your property, we have a plethora of siding and roofing options. We think White Cedar Shingle Siding siding paired with a corrugated metal roof in Copper Penny would be fashionable choices to add to the Florida Room.
• Add-Ons – Any of our weathervanes would look fantastic on this cottage. Install decorative wrought iron brackets to hold hanging flowerpots. Inside utilize peg-racks for hanging coats and bags. If you plan on using your Florida Room year-round, why not add some roof flashing for a woodstove too?
